I got a visit from MI5 this morning. I’d just arrived at the lab, after seeing Jane (much the same), when two suits turned up. It isn’t as exciting as it sounds – it happens fairly frequently. They claimed today that they were just doing a routine screening, but you can tell by their beady, little eyes that they were checking up on progress. They’re always particularly interested in questioning Vasi (she’s Russian, ergo, she must be a spy!), which is rather useful as it means they miss doing a really thorough search.
The odd thing is, we usually get a visit every six months or so, but the last one we had was early March. One does wonder if, perhaps, they’re not as clueless as they seem.
